      Tan Nian was born on May 6, 1985 and enlisted in the army in December 2002. Before he died, he served as the monitor of the First platoon of the Guard Squadron at shunde Border Checkpoint of the Guangdong Provincial Border Defense Corps. In October 2006, he joined the Communist Party of China with the rank of sergeant first class. After joining the army, he was awarded three times. At the end of 2006, he was awarded "Excellent soldier" by the station.
